My mom is considering buying me a laptop!
She wants to buy me the Mac Aluminium one!
But i am not sure whether i really want it.

So which is better to get?

Don't get Macbook Air. It's freaking useless. The specs are not as good as the normal Macbook. Get the normal Macbook, I have the white one but now they've the improved one with a better keypad. The keypad's real good and all. And yes, personally I think Windows suck and Mac definitely rocks. If you're a hardcore camwhore, all the more you should get a Mac.
Get Macbook Pro if you're farting rich and have too much money to spend. The specs are like a thousand times better than the normal Macbook. But of course, the size would be bigger than the normal 1280X800 Macbook as well.

i think a macbook pro's resolution is 1440x900, like a normal imac, it's jsut an enlarged version of 1280x800

Macbook Air is only for people who're on the run and need their laptops with them almost 24/7. The hardcore business freaks who use them for only presentation and work purposes. But for us, a normal Macbook would do, considering the fact that we all do much more than just presentation and work, right?

And trust me, I did a lot of research when I was getting a laptop, and I did all on the different Macbooks.

i suggest a macbook. now even better for you cause the new range of macbooks are cheaper than the previous, and it has better specifications.
don't get anything else. nope, not even the macbook pro or macbook air or the variety.
firstly the other varieties: they are made for a special range of users, special to suit their needs/demands, so there might be some limitations in terms of specifications.
like the macbook air: it's specially made for businessman, to easily transport and carry out, light and thin to slot into your briefcase. if you're a student i dont think you need the macbook air. maybe it's pretty. i say it's pretty useless.
finally macbook pro: specifications are better, but seriously, unless you use your computer for high-multi-tasking activities or you are using it for serious stuff (etc. REAL work) then you're just paying extra. and for god's sake it's not necessary!
SO YEAH. GET THE MACBOOK. WHITE OR BLACK IT'S UP TO YOU.
OH AND ANOTHER THING: WHY NOT WINDOWS? Too many reasons to explain. I'm a windows to mac transition user as well, I say the mac is better.

My dad told me Macbook Air is so thin only because it doesn't have as much memory (or whtv lahs). And you need like, extra external harddisk or smth. (I didn't really listen to him that time. :X)
